Alyssa McClintock, Miss Teen Arizona International 2022, has lived in AZ for eight years. She is a proud graduate of Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe where she also graduated with her AA and AGS from Rio Salado College. In high school, Alyssa was a member of the 2021 state championship winning cheer team, as well as an active member in Key Club, DECA, Dance Council, the Marcos de Niza Fine Arts Academy, and the Law and Public Safety CTE program. With being involved in so many things Alyssa has had her fair share of stress and troubled times, which is what drove her to dedicate her platform “It’s Fine” towards mental health and mental health awareness. She believes that more often than not (even in personal experience), nowadays the word “fine” has a negative connotation to it when used as the adjective it is. When one thinks of “fine china”, damage that’s hidden doesn’t come to mind. It’s a bandaid used to cover the bullet wounds that mental hardships give to all. Through awareness and heathy coping mechanisms, these exact hardships may be worked through, compared to being covered.
